Porcupine Ridge/Tranquille Bonaparte Plateau

This is the KSA’s main riding area. Hosting 9 warm up shelters, a multitude of groomed trail loops, and groomed access trails into thousands of hectares of sub alpine off trail boondocking and low slope terrain. This area has LOW to ZERO Avalanche risk and is safe family accessible terrain. Average elevations between 4500 and 6000 feet, with many meadow complexes to explore and get away from tracks. Riding in Porcupine Meadows provincial park, is accessed here.

Access is from parking lots 1 and 2 located at 21 and 23 kilometer mark on the Sawmill Lake Forest Service Road. The FSR is plowed and access for large trailers is possible. Directions from Kamloops are simple, starting at the end of Batchelor Heights Drive continue straight on Lac Du Bois Road to 19km mark, here follow Sawmill Lake FSR (continuation of Lac Du Bois) to trail head at 21km mark.

  • @ over 2700 hectares, the Porcupine Meadows Provincial Park is boondocking heaven. endless pocket meadows of wind and sun protected snow, you can always find fresh trackless play zones.
